French
Children absorb a new language much more easily than older students and adults. Learning a new language at a young age helps increase listening ability, memory, creativity and critical thinking all of which enhance learning in general. Paradigm Preschool offers French lessons, twice a week, as part of its curriculum.
Music
Music is an essential stimulant for all areas of child development. It is a major contributor to cognitive skills, social and emotional behavior, and to the child’s self-esteem. Listening to music enhances the language skills and brain connections, as well as the math and problem solving abilities. Our Music Room is equipped with rhythm instruments for fun singing and playing under the supervision of a qualified teacher.
Art
Art expression in all of its forms cultivates important skills that benefit children’s development. It allows children to expand their ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Other important skills that are developed by creating art are: problem-solving skills, social and emotional skills, fine and gross motor skills and a chance to move from imagination to creativity. Our Art Room focuses on these pivotal developmental domains in child development.
Drama
Drama and puppet shows play an important role in the child’s development. They help children think creatively, work collaboratively with one another, improve their vocabulary and expand their imagination. Drama provides an outlet for children to create. We encourage every child to participate in both as they promote self-expression, self-esteem and confidence!
IT
The different types of technologies available have become an essential part of our daily lives. The teaching tools of the interactive white board and the I-pad are an integral part of Paradigm’s curriculum. Children benefit greatly from such advancements, as their fine-motor skills improve, their understanding of the concept of cause and effect becomes clearer and grasping knowledge becomes much easier and more enjoyable.
Library
Storytelling and reading are vital elements in child development. Children encounter new language patterns through storytelling, allowing them to become familiar with narrative patterns, speech rhythms, flow of language and an increase in vocabulary. It also helps build imagination. Imagination is an integral role in the lives of children. It develops social skills, creativity and cognition. Paradigm’s fascinating collection of children’s books encourages reading and storytelling in a conducive atmosphere of enjoyment and magic.
Gym
Gross Motor Skills enable your child to utilize the large groups of muscles in their arms and legs. Paradigm Preschool provides a spacious gym with a trained instructor. Gym classes allow children to move more easily, help avoid developmental delays, as well as nurture confidence in their abilities, not to mention the feeling of well being it creates.
Kindermusik
Kindermusik is a class filled with music and movement. It is a very smooth and fun approach to a different type of learning, offering developmentally-specific classes based on learning through play while using simple instruments, pretend play, musical stories , and many more activities.
